Scuba Diving Holidays are an amazing adventure experience available to anyone aged 10 or above. The most popular and globally recognised diving organisation is PADI, providing an extensive range of qualifications and diving. BSAC offer an alternative programme of diving qualifications which are also well respected in many countries. Whilst there are other diving institutions in operation, Active Adventures works with dive centres offering PADI & BSAC training courses.

While the entire diving community shares a common love for the underwater world, we all dive for different reasons. That’s why our diving holidays have been carefully selected for all tastes, whether you want to see historical wrecks, spectacular topographies and geology or observe amazing marine life. We have selected fantastic destinations and itineraries to suit all. We have qualified instructors on our team to create the perfect diving holidays for you which is just one of the reasons why we class ourselves as experts in diving holidays.

You can use the menus below to learn more about what training courses are available from PADI and BSAC or simply click on one of the diving destinations to discover what’s in store for you diving in that location. Please be aware though that nature can be a fickle thing and also quite seasonal, so while we’ll point you to destinations offering the best chance to see specific marine life, we can’t guarantee that it will be present during your diving holiday – for guarantees you’re best to visit a zoo! (PS: diving holidays at any of our destinations promise you warmer water than you’ll find in the UK!)

diving holidays

Some useful tips when considering diving holidays:

  • Regardless of your experience level you will be required to present a medical certificate from a doctor OR complete a PADI self-certification questionnaire prior to diving with a reputable dive centre. For a copy of this form click the link on this page
  • You don’t need to be superman but a reasonable level of fitness is required, ie. you need to carry the weight of fairly heavy equipment to/from the dive site (it weighs nothing underwater!) and be able swim. Advanced courses will require extra levels of fitness.
  • All of our dive centres provide the necessary equipment if you don’t have your own and for initial training courses this is provided free of charge
  • All PADI certification modules carry an additional fee payable locally for the PADI certification card
  • Course manuals (where applicable) are charged extra to the course costs and are payable locally – you can pre-purchase your own if preferred and take with you
  • Certain destinations may require you to dive with a computer – these are usually available to hire if you don’t own one
  • Most destinations offer guided diving – if you want un-guided diving then check with us
  • Certain dive programmes will require a minimum level of experience and/or qualification – check with us
